"Toasted is a riveting theatrical achievement that will linger in your memory long after the show is over." -- TheaterMania.com

SHOCK OF THE FUNNY

I LOVE DRUGS

CERVIX WITH A SMILE

This man is unreasonably happy - but who wouldn't be?

"This twisted spectacle will only be a jaw-dropping surprise to those who didn't see DeCarlo's one-woman show in last year's MITF, Toasted, in which she detailed how her life was thrown into turmoil by a violent post on an Internet mailing list. Anyone who saw Toasted is aware that DeCarlo's way with a story - in both the writing and the delivery - is entirely her own, and the bases are always loaded even when you're not sure who's up at bat." -- Talkin' Broadway

DIARY OF A MAD FASHIONISTA

Mademoiselle and Bucky the Wonderdog in a leisure moment.

The Mad Fashionista, "The Second Most Feared Woman In Fashion", next to Anna Wintour, received a grant from Bill Gates for teaching a class at the Fashion Institute Of Technology for the homeless, "Haute-Copoor" (because nothing rhymes with indigent). She browbeats her assistant, Mary. The Fashionista is in competition with the hot new influencer, Sabrina Airchild, both of them after a Christian Dior leopard coat with otter collar and cuffs. The Fashionista is advised by the ghost of 1940s movie star Lana Turner. In between scenes there are blog entries and newspaper clippings. Her assistant steals the coat and presents it to the Fashionista, who dances ecstatically to "What A Feeling!" as the curtain falls.

This is based on a comic fashion blog Elisa wrote during the mid to late 2000s.

"Diary of a Mad Fashionista" gets TETU -- two enthusiastic thumbs up! I enjoyed the blend of fashion history with the contemporary referencing of celebrity, marketing and branding of clothing as well as people. I laughed out loud. Good stuff! Kirk Butts, Glamour Men's Editor

It was hard to tell just who was talking over a plate of scrambled eggs at a cafe in the West Village on Tuesday: was it Elisa DeCarlo, a playwright and part-time vintage dealer, or her online alter ego, the Mad Fashionista? Eric Wilson, The New York Times "Personality Plus: A Twin Takes Over"
